Keckley Strainers are available in the materials required for most applications, including highly corrosive fluids. All castings are supplied in strict adherence to ASME and ASTM specifications. Cast iron is the least expensive and most often used material. Bronze is widely used for marine service in salt water. Carbon steel is used in the oil and petrochemical market, where greater strength and resistance to mechanical and thermal shock are important. Stainless steel strainers are used in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, where high resistance to corrosion or contamination free conditions is necessary The screen or basket is the heart of the Keckley Strainer. The media flows into the open end of the screen or basket and is strained as it passes through the screen toward the outlet. All particles too large for screen or basket perforations are trapped inside. Screens are provided in perforated metal or wire mesh, depending on strainer size and/or material being strained.
